Shohei Ohtani (LA Angels) is truly a baseball god.
“Idoryu” Ohtani is on pace to win his second career MVP as he continues his unbelievable performance with the bat and the ball.
Ohtani started the 2023 Major League Baseball home game against the Chicago White Sox at Einzel Stadium on Aug. 28 and pitched 6.1 innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out 10 to earn his seventh win of the season.
At the plate, he went 3-for-3 with two home runs, two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored to lead his team to a 4-1 victory.
On the mound, Ohtani is 7-3 with a 3.02 ERA in 16 starts. Out of the rotation, Ohtani is tied for ninth in the American League in wins, ninth in ERA, and second in strikeouts. As a pitcher alone, he’s one of the best in the majors.
Where Ohtani really shines is at the plate. With his 28th multi-homer game of the season against the White Sox, Ohtani leads the majors in home runs. He also leads the league in RBIs with 64, striking fear into the hearts of opposing batters.
If he keeps up this pace, he’ll top both his unanimous MVP season in 2021 and last year, when he made a big push on the pitching side.
In his MVP season, Ohtani hit 46 home runs and 100 RBIs at the plate, but fell just one win shy of double-digit wins on the mound. Nevertheless, he did what was thought to be an impossible feat and won an undisputed Most Valuable Player award.
Last year, he went 15-9 with a 2.33 ERA and 219 strikeouts on his way to finishing fourth in the Cy Young Award voting. At the plate, his 34 home runs and 95 RBIs were good enough for MVP honors, but he lost out to Aaron Judge for the second straight year.
This season, however, Ohtani is hitting the gas pedal like a man possessed, both at the plate and at the plate. If he continues his current trend, he could win 15 games for the second year in a row and surpass the 40-homer mark.바카라
Ohtani’s dominance on the world’s biggest stage, Major League Baseball, has gone beyond the nickname “Showtime” to “The Baseball”. Baseball fans can’t help but be mesmerized by Ohtani’s boundless drive, which has become a part of the game itself.
