Park Moo-bin becomes Anam Hermione with ’24 hours to spare’

Hermione has a busy schedule. A tutor, a varsity starter, and a full-time KU basketball player. The clock is ticking for Park Mubin (G, 4, 187 cm), who can’t miss anything.메이저놀이터

KU won 62-45 at home against Yonsei of the 2023 KUSF College Basketball U-League on Nov. 25 at KU’s Hwajung Gymnasium. Park led the team to victory with 16 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 28 minutes and 43 seconds.

Speaking after the game, Park said, “Until my junior year, playing against Yonsei was a big game, so I didn’t feel any pressure, but this morning (Aug. 25), I didn’t feel anything. I wanted to see if it would work in my favor, and I think it did because I felt comfortable from the first quarter,” Park said after the win.

KU took a narrow lead in the first quarter on a buzzer-beater by Yoon Ki-chan (14-12). Park Mubin was held to two points in the first quarter, but came alive in the second quarter. He made two three-pointers, a free throw, and a steal in the second quarter alone. KU seized the momentum and held the opponent to four points in the second quarter, and extended the lead to 19 points in the third quarter.

Park Mubin said, “You can’t win a rivalry game if you try to solve it with offense. It’s defense, rebounding, and playing with a lot of heart. Especially, (Lee) Dong-geun did a good job with this kind of play,” Park reflected on the game.

Park had a hectic May, juggling teaching practice at Hongdae High School, participation in the Korea-Japan University Selection Basketball Tournament, and league play. It’s a schedule reminiscent of Hermione in the movie “Harry Potter,” who spends her days like 48 hours. In particular, the Lee Sangbaek Bae held for three days from the 19th of this month had the added pressure of a Korea-Japan match. It must have been mentally and physically exhausting. “I’m not 100 percent,” Park said. I’m still in the middle of my student teaching practicum, and I recently contracted the A flu,” Park said, explaining his current physical condition.

This was the first meeting between traditional rivals Korea University and Yonsei University in 2023. True to their reputations, the stadium was packed with spectators, not only for the home team, KU, but also for the away team, Yonsei. The cheering was just as intense as last year’s regular season game, which was also attended by a full house.

Park Mubin said, “The fans of Korea University cheer really hard. I feel proud of their support, and it gives me a lot of energy to play. I am always grateful. I can’t express it, but I’m always grateful to them. Today’s victory was also made possible by the fans,” she said in response to the crowd’s support.

Park Mubin is already known for his personality, looks, and skills. After making a three-point shot in the third quarter, he made a three with his fingers and blew kisses to the stands of both teams. Park explained his stardom by saying, “I wanted to enjoy my joy with the fans who support Korea University.”
