Korean female mixed martial artist ‘Legend’ Ham Seo-hee (35) did not hide her strong will to rise to the top of Asia’s largest organization ‘ONE Championship’.
Ham Seo-hee will compete against Itsuki Hirata (23, Japan), the winner of Season 3 of the reality program ‘Fighting Proxy War’, at ‘ONE Fight Night 8’, which will be held on March 25th.
‘ONE Fight Night 8’ will be held at Singapore Indoor Stadium (capacity 12,000). The main card schedule will be adjusted so that the global OTT service ‘Amazon Prime Video’ can be watched live from 8:00 pm on March 24 바카라in New York, USA.
The two were originally scheduled to face off at ‘One Championship 163’ in November 2022. However, the match with Ham Seo-hee was canceled as Hirata failed to pass her weigh-in.
In her interview posted on her One Championship official website, Seohee Ham said, “I want a showcase. I want to show that she is the strongest among the players who are aiming for the One Championship Atom-level throne,” she said.
The One Championship Atomweight Champion has been Korean fighter Angela Lee (26, USA/Canada) since May 2016. She continues to hold her top spot with successful 5 defenses of the title.
Ham Seo-hee is a world class ranked No. 1 in the world by the third quarter of 2021. Even at the One Championship, she has already won two victories in a row over Dennis Samboanga (26, Philippines), who is ranked third in the official ranking.
Ham Seo-hee, who placed second in the Official One Championship Ranking, strongly demanded a title match, saying, “I only see the World Title shot next.”
Hirata competed in Fighting Proxy War Season 3 in 2018, including Double G Atomweight Champion Park Bo-hyun (Korea), K-1 -45kg title challenger Mio Tsumura (Japan), DEEP -44kg title challenger Mizuki Furuze (Japan), etc. won and advanced to the One Championship. He has a record of 10 wins and 1 loss in mixed martial arts, including 1 win in amateur and 3 victories in proxy fighting.
The One Championship website said, “If Ham Seo-hee defeats Hirata and continues undefeated, he can solidify his claim as the number 1 contender in the atomweight division.”
